How to Qualify: (three scenarios)
Roadmap to New Jersey High School D1 Open State Championship
- New Jersey HS Qualifiers (April 27-28, 2013)
- New Jersey Division One State Championship (May 25-26, 2013)
- New Jersey Division Two State Championship (May 25-26, 2013)
Division One Sectionals Bids: (Seed #1, Seed #2, Seed #3, Seed #4)
- teams assigned to one of four geographic Sections
- North 1
- North 2
- Central
- South
- four teams minimum constitute a Section
- each Section organized and run by a Sectional Youth Coordinator
- teams required to play 4 games within their Section
- teams permitted to play one team at least twice
- Sectional champions awarded byes direct to States
- Sectional champions determined by standings within each Group
- seeding at Division One States determined by RRI after close of HS Northeasterns
Division One Wildcard: (Seed #4, if applicable)
- if less than four of the predetermined geographic Sections do not form (i.e. South having less than four teams), then:
- next highest ranked "wildcard" team earns a first Wildcard (seed #4)
- wildcard team is next highest ranked team according to RRI
- teams seeking “wildcard” play minimum of 4 games against NJ teams (not necessarily in their own Section)
State Qualifiers: (Seed #5, Seed #6, Seed #7, Seed #8)
- remainder of field invited to State Qualifiers to earn one of final four bids at States
- placement at State Qualifiers determines final four bids at Division One States
- Qualifier Champion = 5th Seed at Division One States
- 2nd Place = 6th Seed at Division One States
- 3rd Place = 7th Seed at Division One States
- 4th Place = 8th Seed at Division One States
Division Two States:
- all teams who did not qualify for Division One States should attend Division Two States
- 5th Place at State Qualifiers awarded 1st Seed at Division Two States
Sanctioned Games:
Games are considered sanctioned ONLY if teams complete the following steps:
- All players on participating teams must have set up an online account with USA Ultimate and pay the $15 League Affiliate Fee, or in the alternative, become a current member of USA Ultimate.
- See player registration for further instructions on how to set up an online account and pay the $15 League Affiliate Fee, or become a current member for 2013.
- Team leaders must create and submit an electronic roster to USA Ultimate's Online Rostering System.

- Teams must have an adult chaperone to accompany them at games. An official chaperone is one who is 21 or over, AND has had an NCSI Background Check.
- For players ages 17 or under, chaperones have the added responsibiltiy of carrying a copies of players' Medical Authorization Forms.
- Information on chaperone requirements can be found at USA Ultimate's Chaperone page.
- Player registrations, online rosters, chaperone background checks - ALL these steps must be completed PRIOR to teams' first scheduled game. Results will not be counted until these steps are met.
- If Team A schedules a game versus Team B, and Team A has completed their registration while Team B has not, then the game scheduled between them will count only for Team A but not for Team B.
