• On August 11-12, DeVYL's U16 and U19 teams traveled to Blaine, Minnesota to compete at the 2012 Youth Club National Championships. DeVYL U19 finished in the quarterfinals (fifth out of 14 overall), while their U16 upstarts placed in the national title game (2nd out of eight overall). A recap of their performance can be found here. USAU posted daily coverage in all divisions. DeVYL will return in 2013. Look out for their winter league and tryout information next summer!

• Also this month, two local NJ players (Olivia Hampton, Watchung Hills; Evan Walter, Columbia, Tulane) traveled to Dublin, Ireland to compete with Team USA Juniors (Girls and Open) at the 2012 World Juniors Ultimate Championship. Team USA Jrs Open captured their fourth consecutive gold; Girls took silver.

• Professional Ultimate is coming to NJ! The New Jersey Hammerheads recently held their first round of tryouts. Look for the Hammerheads in spring 2013.

• Local summer leagues and camps have wrapped up. Many NJ high schoolers competed state-wide in leagues in Cranford, Mercer, Skylands and elsewhere. Be on the look out for fall league playing opportunities at Mercer and Skylands.

• With the fall season approaching, teams must update their contact information. Goodbye and good luck to our graduating seniors. New team captains and/or coaches can send their contact info to syc_nj@usaultimate.org.
