D1 Open States "Sectionals Bids": (Seed #1, Seed #2, Seed #3, Seed #4)

1. teams assigned to one of four geographic Sections
1. North 1
2. North 2
3. Central
4. South
2. four teams minimum constitute a Section
1. each Section organized and run by a Sectional Youth Coordinator
3. teams required to play 4 games within their Section
1. teams permitted to play one team at least twice
4. Sectional champions awarded byes direct to States
1. Sectional champions determined by standings within each Group
5. seeding at Division One States determined by RRI after close of HS Northeasterns 

D1 Open States "Wildcard": (Seed #4, if applicable)

1. if less than four of the predetermined geographic Sections do not form (i.e. South having less than four teams), then: 
1. next highest ranked "wildcard" team earns a first Wildcard (seed #4)
1. wildcard team is next highest ranked team according to RRI
2. teams seeking “wildcard” play minimum of 4 games against NJ teams (not necessarily in their own Section)
